A silent-click claim is something only a few makers put on the box, and every mouse on this page carrying one is a Logitech. The cheapest is Logitech M330 Silent Plus, which was seen at $22.99 on 16 Aug 2026; check the current price. The one that combines quiet clicks with everything else a mouse can do is Logitech MX Master 3S for Business, which was seen at $89.99 on 16 Aug 2026; check the current price.

One thing to be clear about before you spend anything: not one of these mice has been clicked here. This is a list of products whose manufacturer makes the claim, not a ranking of how quiet they actually are, and there are no decibel figures behind it.

    Five buttons instead of three, Logitech's SmartWheel, Bluetooth or the Bolt receiver, and a claimed two years on an AA. It is the cheapest silent mouse here with side buttons, which is what most people miss on a three-button mouse.

Which brands actually make silent mice?

Mostly one, on the evidence here: every silent mouse on this page is a Logitech. It is a product-line decision rather than a spec that spreads across a market. Silent clicking is a switch choice: a different mechanism under the button that trades the audible snap for a softer action, and a manufacturer either builds a line around it or does not.

Logitech has built that line, and it runs right through the range: Signature models, ergonomic ones, the MX flagships and the entry-level office mice. We found no quiet-click claim on the models we looked at from any other brand.

That describes what we were able to research rather than the market. Other brands do sell quiet mice; what we can say is that none of the ones we researched publishes the claim in a form we could source.

What does a silent-click claim actually cover?

The left and right button switches, and nothing else. That is the sound that carries in a quiet room and the one that annoys somebody on a call.

It does not cover the scroll wheel, which on several of these is a ratcheting mechanism with a sound of its own, and it does not cover the mouse sliding on the desk. If the noise bothering you is the wheel, a silent-click claim does not address it and no manufacturer here publishes a figure for wheel noise.

Nor does silent mean silent. Manufacturers describe these as a large reduction in click noise rather than as no noise, and since we have not listened to any of them, that is exactly as far as we can take the claim.

What does a silent mouse cost?

Anything from under $30 to over $100, and the money buys buttons rather than quiet. Under $30 there are two: Logitech M330 Silent Plus and Logitech Pebble Mouse 2 M350s. Both three-button, both AA-powered, both light. The Pebble is the flat portable one; the M330 is a conventional contoured shell.

Around $35 to $50: Logitech Signature M650, Logitech Signature Plus M750 and Logitech Signature Comfort Plus M850 L add side buttons and multi-device switching. Logitech Signature Plus M750 rates 4.6★ (910) at Best Buy, on a notably large review sample.

Above that you are buying something else that happens to be quiet: Logitech ERGO M575S is a trackball, Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse is vertical, and the MX models are power-user mice.

Is there a silent keyboard list too?

No, and we cannot produce one to the same standard, which is worth saying rather than fudging. There is no equivalent published, comparable spec: keyboard makers use quietness as a marketing adjective rather than a stated property, and a mechanical board's noise depends mostly on which switch you order it with.

What we will not do is infer it. Guessing that membrane is quieter than mechanical would be a reasonable-sounding rule with real exceptions in both directions, and putting it in a table would dress a guess up as data.

Common questions

Are silent mice actually silent?

No, and the manufacturers do not claim that either: the wording is a large reduction in click noise, not the absence of it. The wheel and the sound of the mouse moving on the desk are unaffected.

We have not listened to any of these, so we cannot tell you how much of a reduction it is in practice.

Do silent switches wear out faster?

No manufacturer here publishes a durability figure for a silent switch, so we have nothing to compare. The gaming mice on this page quote switch lifetimes in tens of millions of clicks; the silent office mice do not quote one at all.

An absent figure means it was not published, not that the answer is bad. We are not going to convert one into the other.

Is there a silent gaming mouse?

Not that we found. Every silent-click product here is an office, ergonomic or productivity mouse, and the closest thing to a crossover is Logitech MX Master 3S for Business, which has seven programmable controls but a 4,000 DPI sensor and is not sold as a gaming mouse. If you want a lot of assignable buttons as well as quiet clicks, that is the one product here that does both.

Which of these has side buttons?

Everything from Logitech Signature M650 upwards. The two cheapest (Logitech M330 Silent Plus and Logitech Pebble Mouse 2 M350s) are three-button mice, meaning left, right and wheel click only.

That is the most common regret on a cheap mouse, so it is worth the extra before it is worth anything else on this list.
