Logitech ERGO M575S
Is the M575S right for you?
The M575S is a wireless thumb trackball that connects by Logi Bolt receiver or Bluetooth and runs on one AA battery.
Best for
- People looking for a gentler setup for their forearm. Logitech says it's proven to reduce muscle strain in the forearm by up to 25% compared to standard mice.
- Anyone after quiet clicks. Logitech lists the switch type as Silent.
Skip if
- You want a mouse you recharge. It takes one AA battery.
- You'd rather push a mouse around than roll a ball. It's a stationary trackball, steered entirely with your thumb.
A trackball stays put while you roll the ball, where a vertical mouse still slides across the desk. How the two compare is covered in our guide Vertical mouse vs. trackball: which ergonomic mouse is right for you?
Want to see it next to a keyboard and a headset? Try it on the QuickDesker board and build a whole desk setup around it.

Prices change; check the one for the colour you want. Logitech sells it in Black, Off-White and Graphite with a blue ball, and in Black and Off-White with a silver ball.
The Logi Bolt receiver comes in the box, with one AA battery. Logitech says it requires the Logi Bolt receiver or a native Bluetooth connection, and that it's certified Works With Chromebook. Battery life is quoted two ways. Logitech's support specifications say up to 18 months on a single AA with the receiver and up to 18 months over Bluetooth Low Energy; its product page says up to 18 months with the receiver or up to 20 months over Bluetooth. Either way there's nothing to charge, though a spare AA in the drawer covers the day it runs flat. The warranty is a one-year limited hardware warranty.
How does a thumb trackball like the M575S work?
Logitech describes the M575S as a stationary trackball mouse: you navigate entirely with your thumb, and the mouse itself stays where you put it. Because the mouse doesn't travel, it needs only the patch of desk it sits on. Logitech lists it at 134 mm by 100 mm by 48 mm, and 145 g (5.11 oz).
It's made for one hand: Logitech says it's exclusively designed for right-handed users. When the ball picks up dust and lint, Logitech says it pops out from the bottom for cleaning.
What do the M575S's buttons do?
Logitech lists 5 buttons: left and right click, back and forward, and a scroll wheel with middle click. Logitech's product page gives two counts of customizable buttons: 3 (back, forward and middle click) in one place, and 5 via Logi Options+ in another. Logitech lists Logi Options+ for macOS and Windows as the supporting software at release.
Logitech lists the switch type as Silent, and rates the left and right buttons for 3 million clicks. There's more on what a silent-click claim covers in our guide: Which Mice Have Silent Clicks, and What Do They Cover?
