Logitech Alto Keys K98M

Is the Alto Keys K98M right for you?
The Alto Keys K98M is a mechanical keyboard in a 98-key layout with a number pad, and it connects by Bluetooth Low Energy or Logi Bolt.
Best for
- People who switch between a computer and a tablet. Logitech says it pairs with up to 3 devices.
- Anyone who'd rather not think about charging. Logitech quotes 1 year without backlight and says you can recharge it while you type.
Skip if
- You want deep key remapping. Three reviews found the customization limited.
A 98-key layout keeps a number pad in less room than a full-size board; what each layout keeps is covered in our guide Keyboard layouts explained: key blocks, ANSI vs ISO, and what a percentage hides.
Want to see it next to a mouse and a headset? Try it on the QuickDesker board and build a whole desk setup around it.
What does it cost, and what should you check first?
- Seen at Best Buy for $99.99 (Graphite) on 20 Oct 2026
- Seen at Logitech.com for $99.99 (Graphite) on 20 Oct 2026
Prices change; check the one for the colour you want. Logitech sells it in Graphite, Lilac and Off-White.
The Logi Bolt receiver comes in the box, along with a USB-C cable.
Over Bluetooth, Logitech lists Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPadOS, iOS and Android, with minimum versions for most of them in the table below.
What are the Marble switches, and can you swap them?
Logitech lists its own Linear Marble Switches, in hot-swappable sockets. Linear means a smooth press with no bump partway.
Logitech rates them at 40g of actuation force, which is how hard you press before a key registers. A press registers 1.9mm down, Logitech says, out of 3.2mm of total travel. A full-height mechanical switch typically travels about 4 mm.
Hot-swap sockets let you pull a switch and fit a compatible one without soldering. Whether that's worth having is covered in our guide Hot-swappable keyboards explained: what the sockets do, and who needs one.
How long does the battery last, and how does it connect?
Logitech quotes 1 year without backlight, from a 1500 mAh lithium polymer battery. Backlighting draws extra power.
From empty, Logitech says a full charge takes 4 hours.
It connects over Bluetooth Low Energy or the Logi Bolt USB receiver, and the F1, F2 and F3 Easy-Switch buttons move it between up to 3 devices, Logitech says.
What do reviewers say?
Two reviews rated the build quality highly, and two liked how it types.
Three reviews found the customization limited.
