The K3 Max is a low-profile mechanical keyboard in a 75% layout that connects by 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth or Type-C cable.
Best for
- People who move between devices. Keychron says it connects to three devices over Bluetooth 5.1.
- Anyone after a thin mechanical board. Keychron lists it at 17 mm high at the front and 22 mm at the rear, keycaps included.
Skip if
- You want ordinary full-height switches or keycaps. Every switch Keychron lists for it is low-profile, and the keycaps are low-profile too.

Prices change, so check the current one before you buy. Keychron sells it in Black, White and White Gray, with an RGB Backlight or a White Backlight.
Check the build if you want to change switches. Keychron names two hot-swappable versions, RGB Backlight (Hot-swappable) and White Backlight (Hot-swappable), though its product description says hot-swapping is "for RGB Backlight Hot-Swappable Version only."
Keychron's spec lists the layout as ANSI, the usual US arrangement, and lists macOS, Windows and Linux as compatible.
Amazon's listing is the RGB Backlight (Hot-swappable) version with Low Profile Gateron Mechanical Brown switches.
How do the low-profile switches and keycaps compare with regular ones?
Keychron lists five switch options: Low Profile Gateron Mechanical Red, Blue, Brown and Banana, and Low Profile Keychron Mechanical Red. On Gateron switches, red usually means linear (smooth all the way down), blue clicky and brown tactile, with a bump you can feel.
Keychron says its low-profile Gateron switch "is 31% slimmer than conventional normal profile switches." The keycaps are low-profile double-shot PBT in LSA profile; double-shot means each legend is a second layer of plastic moulded in, so it doesn't wear off as a printed one can.

How long does the battery last, and how often does each connection report key presses?
Keychron's wireless figure is around 73 hours with the backlight off and around 42 hours with RGB at its lowest brightness, from a 1550 mAh battery.
Polling rate is how often the keyboard tells the computer what you pressed. Keychron lists 1000Hz on 2.4 GHz and the cable, and 90Hz over Bluetooth.
Keychron also lists N-key rollover in both wireless and wired modes, which means every key you hold down at once registers.
