What we can tell you
A low-profile board, meaning shorter switches and a much thinner deck than a standard mechanical: closer to a laptop’s height while still being mechanical. It takes all three connections: a 2.4 GHz receiver, Bluetooth and a cable. One thing to settle before ordering: Keychron states hot-swap is available on the RGB-backlight version only, so the white-backlight version of the same board cannot take different switches.
What the specifications favour
- All three connection modes, including a 2.4 GHz receiver
- Low-profile mechanical switches with a wide published switch list
- QMK/VIA firmware rather than vendor software
What to check before you buy
- Hot-swap is only on the RGB version; the white-backlight version is fixed
- A smaller battery than the full-height boards in the line, with correspondingly shorter figures
- The recorded price was promotional
