Logitech Keys-To-Go 2

Logitech Keys-To-Go 2

Is the Keys-To-Go 2 right for you?

The Keys-To-Go 2 is a scissor-key keyboard that runs on coin-cell batteries.

Best for

  • People who switch between a tablet, a phone and a laptop. Logitech says it connects with up to three devices, and you move between them with a tap of a button.
  • People who want a keyboard to carry. Logitech lists it at 7.84 oz (222 g) and calls it its most portable keyboard ever.

Skip if

  • You want roomy keys. Reviewers found some of the keys cramped, and Logitech lists an 18 mm key pitch.
  • You'd rather recharge a keyboard than replace batteries. It takes two CR2032 coin cells, and Logitech's support specifications list them as not rechargeable.

How far do the scissor keys travel, and how closely are they spaced?

Logitech's support specifications list scissor keys with 1mm of total travel, and its product page gives an 18 mm key pitch. On a scissor keyboard, each key sits on a pair of hinged supports that keep it level as it goes down. A full-height mechanical switch typically travels about 4 mm, so each press here is much shorter. Key pitch is the distance from the centre of one key to the centre of the next; the usual figure on a desktop keyboard is about 19 mm, so these keys sit a little closer together.

Two reviews found some of the keys cramped. One put it down to the compact size packing the keys very closely together; another found the arrow and punctuation keys a bit cramped, but nothing terrible.

How long do the coin cells last, and how does it connect?

Logitech's support specifications quote 36 months from the two CR2032 coin cells, which they list as not rechargeable.

The same specifications give the connection type as Bluetooth Low Energy and Logi Bolt, with Bluetooth 5.0 as the Bluetooth protocol, and a wireless range of 10 m.
