Keychron V6 Max

Is the V6 Max right for you?
The V6 Max is a mechanical keyboard in a full-size 100% layout that works wired or over 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth.
Best for
- People who'd like to try other switches. Keychron says the sockets take most 3-pin and 5-pin MX switches, with no soldering.
- People who move between devices. Keychron says it connects to three devices over Bluetooth 5.1, and it comes with Type-C and Type-A receivers for 2.4 GHz.
Skip if
- You'd carry it between desks. Two reviews found it heavy and not portable, and Keychron lists the fully assembled weight as 1110 ± 10g.
Want to see it next to a mouse and a headset? Try it on the QuickDesker board and build a whole desk setup around it.
What does it cost, and what should you check first?
- Seen at Keychron.com for $109.99 (Fully Assembled Knob / Carbon Black / Gateron Jupiter Brown) on 14 Sep 2026
Prices change; check the one for the switch you want. Keychron sells it in Carbon Black, fully assembled with Gateron Jupiter Red, Brown or Banana switches, or as a Barebone build without keycaps and switches, so you'd supply your own. Its ISO layout page adds fully assembled DE-ISO, UK-ISO, Nordic-ISO and Swiss-ISO versions.
For 2.4 GHz, Keychron says it comes with Type-C and Type-A receivers, which store in a magnetic slot at the top right corner. A Type-C receiver fits a USB-C port and a Type-A one fits a USB-A port.
Keychron lists Windows, macOS and Linux as compatible. It says the V6 Max comes with a system toggle, and the fully assembled version includes both Mac and Windows keycaps.
Which switches does the V6 Max come with, and can you swap them?
Keychron lists Gateron Jupiter Red, Brown and Banana switches for the fully assembled version, and says the Jupiter switches are pre-lubed and rated for up to 80 million keystrokes.
Keychron says the Banana gives "an early tactile bump at the top". A tactile switch puts a small bump in each press.
Keychron says the hot-swap sockets let you install or change switches without soldering, and the PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin MX switches. What the sockets are good for is covered in our guide Hot-swappable keyboards explained: what the sockets do, and who needs one.
How long does the battery last, and which connection should you use?
Keychron's wireless figure is up to 190 hours with the backlight off and up to 100 hours with RGB at its lowest brightness, from a 4000 mAh battery. It adds: "Lab test result may vary by actual use."
Keychron lists a charging time of around 5 hours, through a USB Type-C port.
Polling rate is how often the keyboard tells the computer what you pressed. Keychron lists 1000 Hz on 2.4 GHz and wired, and 90 Hz in Bluetooth mode, so for fast games use 2.4 GHz or a wired connection.
What do reviewers say?
Three reviews praised how it types, and two of them called it comfortable.
